Welcome to Shawanaga Times, the one stop site for all your information related to employment, community events, and programs offered throughout the 69 corridor.

I am a member of Shawanaga First Nation and I have grew up within the community for most of my life. I did leave in 2014, and returned in 2021. I can say that both my parents were very active in the community, as far as bringing programs to our people. My mother is still very active within the community and does amazing work with our people, and surrounding areas.

I believe that the sense of community has slowly went away overtime. Not many people participate, or are unaware of such programming is available, especially community events.
Shawanaga Times, is designed to give you information at your fingertips. Yes, theres the traditional paper newsletter we all receive, or a digital copy is emailed. Yes, there is a Facebook page. Yes, there is a website but I don’t believe it’s monitored or updated to keep everyone up-to-date as it should.

My mission here is to help businesses and to keep people informed about local events, programs, training/education info, anything, if its going to benefit you, I will share it.
